Folding@Home is a distributed computing project which studies protein folding, misfolding, aggregation, and related diseases. We use novel computational methods and large scale distributed computing, to simulate timescales thousands to millions of times longer than previously achieved. This has allowed us to simulate folding for the first time, and to now direct our approach to examine folding related disease.
In short, it does medical researches using your computer resource that helps saving lives. If you are looking for a good deed to do today, this is it!
You can help our project by downloading and running our client software. Our algorithms are designed such that for every computer that joins the project, we get a commensurate increase in simulation speed.
The client program runs in the background automatically without user intervention. It is also run with the lowest priority - meaning that it will only use up free cpu resources.
Should other programs requires the cpu resources, the client program will stop the task it's doing automatically. so this will NOT affect your daily tasks or hinder your computer performances. get it today!!
Simply follow this link to get the client software - [ folding@home client ]
Alternatively, you can also get it from our mirror -
When prompt for a team number, enter 45026 to join the OYA folding team!
If you already have the client and wish to join the OYA folding team, simply right-click on the folding@home icon in your taskbar and select "configure...", a pop-up window should appear and you can enter the team number in the second row.
